Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 7, 2026 · Last Updated: July 7, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to SplitFair ("SplitFair," "we," "us," or "our"). SplitFair helps creators, brands, agencies, and their collaborators share, track, and fairly manage credit and revenue splits for music, video, and audio projects.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to all users of SplitFair — creators, brands, agencies, and collaborators with an account (collectively, "Users," "you"). It should be read alongside our Terms of Service.
By using SplitFair, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

5. How We Share Your Information
- With other collaborators: Because SplitFair is a collaborative platform, some information is necessarily visible to others. When you join a project, other collaborators on it (which may include creators, brands, or agencies) can see relevant details like your name, role, and agreed split percentage. They cannot see your private account details, full payment information, or anything unrelated to shared projects.
- With service providers: We share data with trusted third parties who help us run SplitFair, including payment processors, cloud hosting providers, analytics tools, and customer support or email delivery services. These providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us.
- For legal reasons: We may disclose information to comply with legal obligations — such as tax reporting or law enforcement requests — or to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: If SplitFair is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal data may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or one at least as protective.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
6. International Data Transfers
SplitFair serves users globally, so your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including outside the EEA/UK. When we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, to keep it protected.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described here, including:
- Account data — for as long as your account is active, plus a limited period afterward for legal and operational purposes
- Payment and tax records — as required by applicable tax and financial regulations (often 6–7 years)
- Collaboration and split records — for the life of the project and a reasonable period afterward, in case of disputes
8. Your Privacy Rights
If you're in the EEA, Switzerland, or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data; restrict or object to certain processing; receive your data in a portable format; withdraw consent at any time; and lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
If you're in the United States, depending on your state of residence, you may have rights under laws such as California's CCPA/CPRA — including the right to know, delete, or correct your data. SplitFair does not sell personal data.
Wherever you are, you can reach out to privacy@splitfair.io with questions or requests about your data.
9. Data Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards — including encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews — to protect your data. No system is completely secure, though, and we can't guarantee absolute protection.
10. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
SplitFair uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and understand how the platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
11. Children's Privacy
SplitFair is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at privacy@splitfair.io so we can remove it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice and update the "Last Updated" date above.
